Catalogue Note

This presentation is divided into several sections, each corresponding to the geographic regions and cultures figuring in the history of Islamic civilizations. Within these sections, the works are classified chronologically, without distinction as to medium or technique. Dimensions of every work are given in inches, with heights preceding width. The dimension of thickness is given when available. Transliteration has been applied to words in Arabic, Turkish and Persian as printed in italics.
